100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. (OHBMLI) Announces Newly Elected President Curtiss Jacobs

Wall Street Executive and Former Executive Chairman of WorldofMoney.org takes the helm of community activist group focused on taking control of their communities.

Long Island, New York. — Feb. 16, 2015 — OHBMLI one of the nation’s oldest and trusted leaders in community activism, today announced Curtiss Jacobs as OHBMLI president and chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors effective on January 31, 2015. Mr. Jacobs brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience and community activism to his role having led global financial service organizations. Jacobs previously served as the executive board chairman of the worldofmoney.org and under his leadership the organization experienced a significant increase in revenues.  Jacobs replaces Amun Handa, OHBMLI’s president and chief executive, who has served in that capacity since August of 2013.

Mr. Jacobs has a proven track record of applying a risk adverse approach to turn around underperforming organizations.  He’s held global executive leadership positions in Risk and Operations at AIG, the Bank of America, Pitney Bowes and Citigroup.  Mr. Jacobs earned a bachelors of science degree from Adelphi University on Long Island and an MBA in International Business from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
