The Journey to Prominence Continues

On May 27th the 100 Black Men of Long Island hosted its 1st annual spring mixer at Capital Grille in Garden City. This event was held to raise awareness about the One Hundred on Long Island. The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour followed by a welcome message and passionate call to action from Curtiss Jacobs, chapter President.

Over the course of the evening 21 brothers submitted membership applications. In the following days, the membership committee received an additional 10 applications. In attendance were local entrepreneurs, clergy, politicians, and executives from many of the Fortune 500 companies.

Robert Brown, CFO of the New York Yankees and VP of the NYC Chapter and Fitzgerald Miller of the National Office also attended.
